I am a writer and avid reader. I have written mostly poetry and short stories throughout my adolescence and college. I have not published any of my work yet, but have recently started working on a YA novel that I hope to finish soon and to submit for publication in the near future.
 
My blog, An Avid Reader’s Musings, is dedicated to reviews and more of middle grade and young adult fiction. The idea behind my blog is, to not only discuss and share my opinions of books, but to also foster literacy in middle grade and young adult readers. My hope is to encourage young readers to want to read and to create a place online where they can go to learn about upcoming and new releases, as well as backlisted novels, in all genres incorporated in the middle grade and young adult sections.
 
I personally am interested in reading novels with people of color (POC) as main characters, strong and independent female main characters and/or anything set in a dystopian world, although I will read any book that piques my interest, regardless.
 
Besides reading and writing, I also enjoy watching movies especially Turner Classic Movies, watching Philadelphia Phillies games and singing karaoke with friends.
